The Karnataka Labour Welfare Board (KLWF) has issued a press note reminding establishments about mandatory Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Contribution under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965. Employers must remit contributions for the calendar year 2024 by January 15, 2025, through the official website.
Applicability of Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Contribution :
The following establishments are required to comply:

- Factories, plantations, workshops, and motor omnibus services.
- Rental service establishments employing over 10 workers with power or 20 workers without power.
- Establishments under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1961.
- Societies registered under the Karnataka Society Registration Act, 1960.
- Commercial and IT/BT establishments with more than 50 workers/staff.
- Charitable trusts and organizations.
Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Contribution 2024 amount :
- Employee Contribution: ₹20
- Employer Contribution: ₹40
- Total Per Employee contribution: ₹60
Penalty for Non-Compliance:
Delays will attract penalties at 12% annual interest for the first three months and 18% thereafter. Inspections by the Welfare Commissioner/ Labour department Officers to initiate legal proceedings for non-payment of contribution may follow.
